The Tramprally will take place from 09.05.2026 (Saturday) to 10.05.2026 (Sunday). The starting point is on Saturday, 09.05.2026 at 9am in front of the city hall in Freiburg im Breisgau (DE). Early arrival is possible from Friday evening.

The destination of the Tramprally will remain a secret until the official start :). However, as in previous years, it is about 200-250 kilometers from the starting point. You will receive a folder with all the necessary information at the starting point. This folder also contains the exact destination address. A campsite or similar accommodation will usually be waiting for you at your destination.

Bring a sleeping bag and a tent as well as enough food/drink for the trip. We will provide food at the destination. It can be rainy and rather cold at this time of year. Make sure you have rainproof and warm clothes with you. Other useful items could include your cell phone, a valid ID and a backpack for your equipment.

Our Tramprally is suitable for both new hitchhikers and experienced professionals. At many of our last events, people were there who were hitchhiking for the very first time. So take the plunge and register yourself and your friends for the Tramprally 2026. The hitchhiking community is always happy to see new hitchhikers on the roads :).

We have deliberately decided not to charge a participation fee this year. However, as the Tramprally still costs a lot of money (accommodation, food, materials...) we will set up a donation box to cover our costs. So please donate one or two euros so that we can organize more events in the coming years. These donations are of course voluntary and only serve to cover costs!

There will be several ways to get home from the finish point on Sunday. There is a train station just a few minutes away where several trains depart each day. Of course, there is also the option of simply hitchhiking back home. Most of our participants actually use this option.

The Tramprally 2026 is organized by Abgefahren e.V. (German Autostop Society since 2006). This year, a large circle of friends and acquaintances from the Rhein-Main area is behind the organization (look up the button Organisation). We are supported by various hitchhiking clubs such as Autostop Switz, Tramprennen.org and Backseatrally.
